Silvester is a yearly assembly to meet up and spend the rest of the year with cooking, board games or movies. Every member is invited to participate.

2012/2013

This party was celebrated in Berlin, but there are no further recordings. We were on the very top of an old FLAK-Bunker, looking down at the city as it disappeared inside the smoke from the Fireworks. This was the only Assembly where Benny participated, despite him having been asked every single year since then.

2014/2015

2015/2016

This party was celebrated in Dresden, but there are no recordings. We had visitors from Sweden, and were celebrating the new year next to the river Elbe. We were sent a uncle sam hat that was carried everywhere.

2016/2017

We celebrated in a metal construction company in a Village in Saxony. Fun was mandatory, anyone that would have disturbed the festivities would have been banished. We were cooking vast amounts of Bolognese for everybody, which took about five times longer to prepare as planned.

2018/2019

This italian cork was apparently precision engineered to never come off.

Was held inside the same metal construction company from the NYE 2016/2017, this time we prepared a Borshtsh soup. Shortly before the new year we went for a hike on top of the mountain. We had some board games like Carcassonne, and vast amounts of booze.

2019/2020

We had an entire industrial kitchen to play with, including fridges, freezer and a whole bar.

This meetup happened after we alredy met at the 36C3 in Leipzig. Because of that, everybody was extra tired, but we still managed to pull it off.

Location

This time, we were invited to a city hall in Hesse. When we arrived, we were happy to discover that the hall was about 3 times as big as described. There was also a full-sized industrial kitchen we were able to use, including a whisk with the proud size of a toiled plunger. We spend the first couple of hours fixing the cracks in the walls, in order to get the room heated. Never fully succeeded, it was pretty chilly.

Food and drinks

We cooked Fusili and a fantastic Chili con Carne, and someone organized a raclette grill. There was plenty of drinks for everyone. We had more wine than we managed to finish, and the remaining drinks needed to be distributed between the participants at the end.

Activities

We watched conference talks and tried to fix a fucked-up projector, that mart got from the trash. We organized a small im-prompto lock-picking workshop, which was also attended by the local village youth since we literally had no way of locking the backdoor. (Ironic, isn't it?) There was a bowling alley in the cellar, we spend most of the time inspecting the mechanism driving it. Bloddy succeeded in getting multiple strikes that made the image of a pig light up. We thought we had killed bsod's speakers, but it turned out we were to drunk to plug them in correctly.
