*1 cup butter (softened)
*2/3 cup sugar
*1 egg
*1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
*1/2 teaspoon salt
*2 1/2 cups sifted all purpose flour
*batch of [[#ark-van_frost|vanilla frosting]], optional

*3/4 cup powdered sugar, sifted
*1 tablespoon butter, melted
*1 tablespoon milk
*1/2 teaspoon vanilla
*1/4 teaspoon lemon juice
*food colouring of your choice, optional</span>

:<font size="3"><b>Cookie:</b></font>
#Cream together butter and sugar.
#Beat in egg.
#Add vanilla, salt, and flour. Mix until all ingredients are well-blended.
#<font color="#1aa3ff"><i>Chill the dough 3-4 hours before rolling.</i></font>
#<font color="#ff4000"><i>Preheat oven to 350°F.</i></font>
#Roll out dough to 1/4 inch thick. Cut dough into shapes using cookie/biscuit cutters or drinking glasses.
#Place on cookie sheet(s) and bake 8 to 10 minutes or until barely coloured.
#Remove from cookie sheet(s) and cool on wire racks.
#If desired, allow cookies to cool, then frost. Otherwise, cookies may be consumed plain.

#Combine all ingredients and beat until smooth.
#Add in food colouring, if desired. Stir until well-combined.
#Pipe or spoon onto cooled cookies and allow to set.
